Perhaps I should take a step back and list the Commandments of Roguery that all raiding rogues should follow if you expect to be near the top of the dps charts:
1. Remember to poison your weapons (I know it sounds ridiculous to say so, but people have made this mistake.)
2. If you follow rule 1, then only use Instant on your Main Hand, and Deadly on the Off-Hand, that means no Wound unless required for the fight.
3. Always try to be behind the target as much as possible unless directed other wise, i.e. Onyxia or Vaelastrasz, "stay away from the tail."
4. For God's sake, watch you're bloody threat! If you're playing correctly, it's amazing how quick a rogue can build up threat behind a tank. If you come near to the tank's threat, remember, you have Feint and Vanish(and Shadowmeld for the Night Elves).
5. ALWAYS keep Slice and Dice up on your character, easy to understand. Glyph of Slice and Dice helps.
6. Instead of doing Eviscerate, use Rupture at 5 combo points, helps more in the long run, like bosses, and gets buffed by Druid's Mangle ability.
7.Blow your cooldowns as many times as you can, you don't have to necessarily save them and will probably still be able to use them for that "Final Push" seeing as how long boss fights can be. Idle trinkets don't help out as much as used ones.
8. Don't let your energy cap out, if it is, then your slacking off.
9. Absolutely NO Combat Daggers, as I've mentioned before. Pre-BC daggers may have been great, not at all now unless you go Raid Mutilate. I know Backstab sounds like it does alot (150% weapon dmg plus X amount) but keep in mind how crappy the weapon dmg on a dagger is, Sinister Strike is better, nuff said.
10. In accordance with Rule 9, Subtlety is also a NO. Hemo is nice and all, but not quite as good as SS is.
If theres something I missed, I'll get back to you guys.
